Numbeo’s safety index considers multiple factors for this index which are crime levels, personal safety while walking at night, and concerns about violent crime, burglary, and discrimination as well as women’s safety. The UAE’s low crime rates, strict law enforcement, and advanced infrastructure have contributed to this.
Both residents and visitors can move around with complete peace of mind, whether it’s a late-night walk in Downtown Dubai or a solo trip to the beach.
GCC countries dominate the Global Safety Index
The UAE is not the only Gulf nation that is dominating the charts for its high safety standards. Qatar ranked third with a score of 84.2, and Oman came in the fifth position with 81.7. How impressive!
Other countries in the top ten include the Isle of Man, Hong Kong, Armenia, Singapore, and Japan.
Dubai & Abu Dhabi become the safest cities globally!
This comes as no surprise, but earlier this year, Dubai was ranked the second safest city in the world, with a safety index score of 83.9.
And with that, Abu Dhabi remains the undisputed leader, with the title of the world’s safest city for the ninth consecutive year with an impressive score of 88. Meanwhile, Sharjah followed closely in third place with a score of 83.8 – talk about having the right systems in place!
